Engineers overwhelmingly approve SEPTA contractBrotherhood of Locomotive Engineers General Chairman Steve Bruno reports that BLE members on Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) have overwhelmingly ratified a new contract.
The deal, which was ratified by a nearly five-to-one margin, provides wage increases over the next five years of a minimum of 16 percent and a maximum of 25.5 percent. Engineers will also be paid nearly twice as much for travel time if they meet specific requirements.

The BLE represents more than 200 members on SEPTA. Negotiations began in July of 1999 and ratification was publicly announced October 24.
