INDEPENDENCE, Ohio, September 7 — The following health and wellness resources are available to members covered by The Railroad Employees National Health and Welfare (GA-23000) Plan or The National Railway Carriers and United Transportation Union (NRC/UTU) Health and Welfare (GA-690100) Plan, who are currently impacted by declared disasters and emergencies (such as hurricanes, wildfires and floods). All emergency and major disaster declarations are made by the President of the United States and are communicated through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) (https://www.fema.gov/disaster/current).

Behavioral Health:

United Behavioral Health/Optum: 1-866-342-6892 (toll free) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
An emotional support help line is available, free of charge, regardless of behavioral health plan membership. It provides access to specially trained mental health specialists to help people manage stress and anxiety. Callers may also receive referrals to community resources to help them with specific concerns, including financial and legal matters.

  • Disaster Planning & Recovery Center: Type the word “disaster” into the search bar, select the Disaster Planning & Recovery Center. Here you’ll find information on preparing for and recovering from natural disasters and links to national organizations too.
  • Coping Center: Type the word “coping” into the search bar, select Coping. Here you’ll find articles, guides, self-help tools and videos on coping with stress.

Sanvello: Get the Sanvello app.

Sanvello is an app that offers clinical techniques to help dial down the symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression — anytime. The Sanvello app is available to you at no extra cost as part of your behavioral health benefits. Download and open the app from the App Store® or Google PlayTM.

Telemental health visits: Until September 30, 2021 (unless extended by Optum), you can access mental health and substance use care from your provider through digital or telephonic means. In other words, instead of physical office visits, mental health and substance abuse care provider services may be received via online video or chat (including video capabilities on your phone) or via a telephone call. Fixed-dollar copayments are not waived for these digital or telephone visits, so the applicable payment is required just as if it were a physical office visit. If you have questions, contact a Behavioral Care Advocate at 1-866-850-6212.

Prescription Drugs:

Accredo and Express Scripts: 1-800-842-0070 (toll free) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, express-scripts.com .If you are affected by a current disaster or emergency and need your medicine, we can help. If you need an emergency fill, login to express-scripts.com and go to Find a Pharmacy to locate a nearby network pharmacy. Then, call the pharmacy to check if it is open. If your ID card is unavailable, call the number above for assistance, and to locate a nearby network pharmacy. Deliveries might be delayed into affected areas.

Help finding care, behavioral health support, and assistance with finding available shelters and government resources, and other services are available through Aetna’s Resources for Living, regardless of health plan membership to people in affected areas.

For those who reside in areas where States of Emergency have been declared, waivers have been put in place for Medical Authorization Requirements, Claims Timely Filing, and Paying Out-of-Network Claims as In-Network.

Free telephone access to registered nurses is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week regardless of health plan membership. Help finding health care services is available through the toll-free phone number, and in-network rates will be available even if members are not able to see an in-network provider. Members can download the UnitedHealthcare app, which provides access to medical plan ID card, network care providers, health benefits information and more. The app is available at the App Store and on Google Play.

Health Advocate: 1-866-799-2690 (toll free) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
Experts are available to help: locate in-network providers in a new area, find facilities that will be able to provide temporary assistance, transfer medical records and prescriptions, get a short supply of medications if prescriptions have been lost, coordinate care between insurance company and medical providers, answer benefit and treatment questions and help with elderly parents.

Dental:

The Member Services team is able to assist members with locating in-network providers, answer questions about dental services or treatment, and verify benefits.

Life – Counseling Services:

Confidential counseling services are offered through LifeWorks with MetLife’s Life insurance coverage for union members. Whether it’s coping with a loss or a major life event, professional counselors and services are offered to support members and their families.
