INDEPENDENCE, Ohio, November 2 — The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) has reached a tentative agreement with the New York, Susquehanna & Western (NYS&W) Railroad. Ballots have been mailed to active members of the BLET employed by the NYS&W who are eligible to vote in the ratification of this agreement.

Ballots are due by 12:00 Noon, Eastern Standard Time, on Monday, November 23, 2020. The tentative agreement governs rates of pay and work rules for approximately 45 members.

Members who are eligible and have not received a ratification packet yet should call the National Division at (216) 241-2630, extension 222. When connected with the extension, please leave the following information:

• Your name, address and phone number;
• Your date of birth; and
• The last four digits of your Social Security number.

The NYS&W members belong to BLET 521 (Hawthorne, N.J.) and are represented by the CP Rail-D&H/PanAm (ST)/SL&A General Committee of Adjustment.

BLET National President Dennis Pierce urged the NYS&W membership to cast their ballots in this most important of union processes. “Voting on your union contract is an integral part of your membership in the BLET and I urge all of our NYS&W members to do their part in keeping our Brotherhood strong.”

The NYS&W operates over 400 miles of track in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. It connects with CSX at North Bergen, N.J., Syracuse, N.Y., and Utica, N.Y., and with Norfolk Southern at Binghamton, N.Y., Passaic Junction, N.J., and Marion Interchange, N.J. The railroad is headquartered in Cooperstown, N.Y.
