BLET reaches tentative agreement with Keolis (Boston) for locomotive engineers

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio, December 4 — The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) has reached a tentative agreement with Keolis Commuter Services (Boston) for locomotive engineers. Ballots have been mailed to active members of the BLET employed by Keolis who are eligible to vote in the ratification of this agreement.

Ballots are due by 2:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Friday, January 3, 2020. The tentative agreement governs rates of pay, benefits and work rules for more than 200 members.

Members who are eligible and have not received a ratification packet by Monday, December 16 should call the National Division at (216) 241-2630, extension 222. When connected with the extension, please leave the following information:

• Your name, address and phone number;
• The division to which you belong;
• The date you were promoted to locomotive engineer;
• Your date of birth; and
• The last four digits of your Social Security number.

E-mail requests for ballots will not be accepted because personal information is required to verify eligibility before a ballot can be issued.

“The contract ratification process is one of the most important parts of union membership,” BLET National President Dennis. R. Pierce said. “I encourage all Keolis members to study this contract proposal and to cast their ballot.”

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is one of the oldest public transit systems in the United States. Since 2014, Keolis Commuter Services has operated and maintained the MBTA’s commuter rail system, carrying more than 127,000 passengers daily throughout Greater Boston.
