NJ Transit tells Congress it needs $1.25 billion bailout

WASHINGTON, D.C. — NJ Transit, which runs one the of the nation’s largest commuter transportation networks, has lost 88 percent of its ridership and now needs a $1.25 billion federal bailout in order to survive, according to a letter obtained by Politico.
