Wabtec, UE reach temporary agreement to end strike while negotiations continue for up to 90 days

ERIE, Pa. — There will be no picket lines Thursday morning outside Wabtec Corp. in Erie, where about 1,700 union members have been on strike since Feb. 26, the day after the merger between Wabtec and GE Transportation. Wabtec and United Electrical workers Locals 506 and 618 announced late Wednesday night that they have an agreement to end the strike. The deal is only for 90 days, however.
