California bullet train project is drawing private interest, but not funding

LOS ANGELES ó Since its earliest days of planning, California's $68-billion bullet train project has counted on a massive infusion of private capital to fill any gaps in state and federal funding. A new sounding of international interest in such investments indicates the money may not arrive any time soon.
