Plans for high-speed rail system approved in Niagara Falls

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. -- Plans for a high-speed rail system were put into motion for the City of Niagara Falls. Council voted in favor of the $22.7 million construction contract, which was awarded to a Niagara Falls company, for the transportation center, which would act as a gateway to Canada for Amtrak's Maple Leaf Line and would serve as the anchor for the Empire Corridor.
