Advocates lay out plan for high-speed rail in Chicago, Midwest

CHICAGO — The Midwest High Speed Rail Association on Wednesday laid out its plans for a network of high-speed trains. The organization, a 501c educational nonprofit, is attempting to build a coalition of transportation enthusiasts to garner political support across the state.
The plan, CrossRail Chicago, involves connecting dozens of suburbs throughout the Midwest with the ultra-high speed trains already popular throughout Europe and much of Asia.
