Opinion: The great high-speed rail lie

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — The San Francisco Chronicle recently published a column by Roger Christensen, a transit advocate from Los Angeles County (former chairman of the Metro Citizen Advisory Council). He corrects many of the falsehoods spread by opponents of high-speed rail. Those falsehoods originate from an anti-passenger rail group known as the Reason Foundation, which is funded by Chevron, ExxonMobil, Shell Oil, the American Petroleum Institute, Delta Airlines, the National Air Transportation Association and the Koch Family Foundation.
