Congress will look into railroad safety

(The St. Louis Post Dispatch posted the following article on its website on January 31.)

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Union Pacific Corp. and other U.S. railroads can expect more scrutiny on worker fatigue and other safety issues this year.

Two Democrats in the U.S. House, James Oberstar of Minnesota and Corrine Brown of Florida, said they would work with U.S. agencies to bolster rail oversight.

Oberstar chairs the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and Brown heads the panels railroad subcommittee.
