Jason C. Wright of BLET Division 502 (Kansas City, Mo.) was appointed Special Representative and Coordinator of Education and Training by BLET National President Dennis R. Pierce effective July 1, 2013. He was named Special Representative and Director of Education and Training effective July 7, 2015.

A BNSF locomotive engineer, Brother Wright hired out as a switchman/brakeman on February 16, 1996. He began the BNSF's Locomotive Engineer Training Program in June of 1997 and earned promotion to Locomotive Engineer on November 21, 1997. After gaining enough seniority to avoid furlough status, he transferred his engineer seniority from Springfield, Mo., to Kansas City on June 22, 2001. His BLET membership became effective a short time later, on September 1, 2001.

Brother Wright was elected Local Chairman of Division 502 in the 2009 triennial elections, and he began serving in January 2010. In May of 2013, he was elected 1st Alternate Vice Chairman of the BNSF (former SL-SF)/MNA General Committee of Adjustment.

In his new position as Special Representative and Coordinator of Education and Training, Brother Wright will be tasked with organizing and conducting training workshops for BLET Local Chairmen, Secretary-Treasurers, and other division and GCA officers at various locations throughout the United States, including all four BLET regional meetings each year. He will also handle various other duties as assigned by the National President.

Brother Wright comes from a railroad family. His father, Carl Wright, worked for the Santa Fe and then later retired from the BNSF with 36 years of service. Brother Wright has three children: Jacob, Chandler and Hannah.
