Hinkle Yard/Hermiston, Ore. (UP)

At approximately 6 p.m. on August 9, there was another remote control incident at Hinkle. A set of remote control locomotives ran off the end of a switch point blue flag derail on Rita's Hill. At least one full set of trucks went off of the end of the derail and into the gravel pile. This is the fourth time in the last 16 months that a set of remote control locomotives have run off of the end of this blue flag switch point derail.
