A remote engine was switching the rip at Shortline Yard. One remote operator went to relieve himself and the other operator decided to continue to work by himself. He released the brakes on one track and had his locomotive on the other with no one on the point. The operator started out of the track and struck the cut of cars that had rolled out into the foul, causing a derailment and damage to UP1331 also track and car damage.
