Update: New BLET membership cards

CLEVELAND, June 22 — The BLET National Division is continuing to receive positive feedback from members after launching a major overhaul of the Organization’s membership card program earlier this month.

“The National Division has received a steady stream of positive feedback over the past few weeks, ever since the cards were mailed on June 4,” BLET National Division President Dennis R. Pierce said. “Both active and retired members have reached out to us to express their appreciation. Our intent was to help reinvigorate our membership and strengthen their ties to the Brotherhood, and the early reports indicate we have been successful.”

The cards were mailed from Cleveland via First Class mail. The cards are union-made and printed in the U.S.A. and are the same size as a standard credit card. Also, they are made of a thick, high quality plastic — similar to a hotel room key — so they are durable and should last a long time. The cards reflect each member’s length of membership, as well as their name and Division number.

As a follow-up, the National Division is preparing a second mailing of membership cards in the coming weeks. It should be noted that in the initial distribution cycle, the National Division only sent cards to members for whom the union has a verified mailing address. If you are an active or retired BLET member and did not receive a new membership card, it is likely that we do not have your current mailing address. Please contact your Division Secretary-Treasurer, who can then update your mailing information as part of the regular membership reporting process. These members also are asked to provide their telephone number and email address so that our files can be as complete and up to date as possible.

Members wishing to update their mailing address and contact information on their own can do so by registering at www.ble-t.org (if they have not already done so) and logging in to the Members’ Area.

Additionally, the National Division will be contacting the various Division Secretary-Treasurers in an effort to update the mailing information for as many members as possible prior to the next distribution cycle.
