Triennial elections update: Members’ mailing info

CLEVELAND, October 26 — The National Division recognizes that members’ personal information, including their home addresses, is privileged information that has been entrusted to us. As a result, we do not allow the distribution of members’ address lists except under limited, closely-monitored circumstances. However, it is also understood that members running for office may wish to distribute campaign material in the mail. The National Division will therefore assist candidates wishing to distribute campaign material by addressing and labeling envelopes containing campaign material and mailing it to the affected active membership. The cost is $15.

To utilize this service, candidates must do the following:

1. Fold, stuff and seal campaign material in individual envelopes.

2. Apply correct postage to each envelope.

3. Place the stuffed and sealed envelopes in a parcel or carton.

4. Include a letter in the parcel advising of the office they are running for.

5. Include a check for $15, payable to BLET.

6. Address and mail the parcel to National Secretary-Treasurer, BLET, 1370 Ontario Street, Cleveland, OH 44113-1702.

7. Upon receipt, the ND will address and mail the campaign envelopes to the affected membership within 5 days of receipt.
