The fight to keep Southwest Chief moves to Congress

PUEBLO, Colo. -- The campaign to keep Amtrak’s Southwest Chief passenger train running through Southern Colorado is shifting to Congress. Sen. Mark Udall, of Colorado, and Sens. Tom Udall and Martin Heinrich, of New Mexico, sent a letter this week to the Senate Subcommittee on Transportation urging the panel to support spending adequate money to upgrade the rail lines the Southwest Chief uses through the region.
