Tough luck: Hit by Amtrak train, bald eagle injured again

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- It's been a brutal March for Streaky, a female bald eagle nesting in the New River Gorge National River between Hinton and Sandstone in Summers County. On March 7, the eagle was struck by an Amtrak passenger train rolling along a section of track near her nest. Less than two weeks later, she was hit by a car traveling on River Road, in the same vicinity.
