As scrutiny of crude shipments builds, sheriffs use radar guns to clock speed of CSX trains in New York

NEW YORK -- The Rockland Sheriff’s Office has begun using radar guns to check speeds of CSX trains hauling oil and other freight on the River Line, which passes through four of the county’s five towns. It also wants the railroad to provide local officials with a daily list of the hazardous materials aboard the trains.
