NJ Transit to get permanent home to store trains

NEWARK, N.J. -- NJ Transit has approved design and engineering services for a storage yard that would be able to hold up to 120 train cars. The project involves reconfiguring and expanding the County Yard — near NJ Transit’s Jersey Avenue Station on the Northeast Corridor Line in New Brunswick — into the adjacent Mile Run Yard, which is not in service, officials said.
