NJ Transit to receive $144 million in Sandy money to repair equipment, recover costs

NEWARK, N.J. — On March 15, New Jersey’s two U.S. senators, both Democrats, announced $144.4 million in disaster relief for the beleaguered transportation agency to cover some of the costs of equipment repairs and temporary bus and ferry service provided after the storm.
