Union Pacific announces corporate relations appointments

OMAHA, Neb. — Union Pacific Railroad today announced the following Corporate Relations appointments.

Donna Kush will be promoted to vice president Public Affairs - Northern Region effective April 1, succeeding Joe Bateman. Kush currently serves as assistant vice president - Corporate Communications. She joined Union Pacific in 2008 and has more than 24 years of corporate marketing, branding and communications experience. Kush earned master's and bachelor's degrees in journalism and mass communications from the University of Nebraska.

Bateman will serve as vice president - Government Relations, where he will lead special projects and serve in an advisory capacity until his retirement Oct. 1.

Brenda Mainwaring will be promoted to vice president Public Affairs - Southern Region effective April 15, succeeding Joe Adams, who will retire May 31. Mainwaring joined the railroad in 1997, serving as director Public Affairs - Iowa and Nebraska since 2007. She worked in Washington, D.C., with the U.S. government prior to joining Union Pacific. Mainwaring earned master's and bachelor's degrees in anthropology from the University of Iowa.

Tom Lange will be promoted to assistant vice president - Corporate Communications, succeeding Kush. Lange currently serves as director - Corporate Communications. A former newspaper editor, he has more than 25 years of media relations and communications experience in the consumer, manufacturing, sports and transportation industries. He earned a bachelor's degree in public relations from Webster University in St. Louis.
