BNSF completes double tracking project around Grand Island

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — The double tracking of the BNSF Railway on both sides of Grand Island has been completed. Grand Island thus becomes one of a very small number of small U.S. cities hosting two two-track railroads, although the section of BNSF through town remains a single track for now.
