NTSB to meet on 2011 Nevada accident involving truck and Amtrak track

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Transportation Safety Board will hold a Board meeting to determine the probable cause of the crash involving a commercial truck that struck an Amtrak train in Miriam, Nevada.
On June 24, 2011, a Peterbilt truck-tractor pulling two empty trailers struck the left side of an Amtrak train that was passing through a grade crossing. The truck driver, train conductor and four train passengers were fatally injured. Fifteen train passengers and one crew member were injured.
