KCS reports dip in quarterly profits but higher revenue

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Southern, on Friday reported quarterly earnings that trailed analysts’ estimates as revenue from coal and grain shipments declined. The Kansas City-based company reported net income of $90 million, or 82 cents a share.
