Feds advance Amtrak control of Empire Corridor

Federal regulators have cleared the way for Amtrak to take control of nearly 95 miles of the Empire Corridor, leasing it from CSX Transportation and giving the passenger railroad control of everything from train schedules and frequencies to how fast the trains travel.
