Amtrak sets new ridership record at 31.2 million in 2012

RENSSELAER, N.Y. — Amtrak said Wednesday it carried more than 31.2 million passengers in the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, up 3.5 percent from a year earlier and the highest in its four-decade history.
