Wisconsin to seek ADA waiver for Amtrak train redesign

MILWAUKEE, Wisc. — Facing the prospect of a multimillion-dollar redesign, state transportation officials plan to seek a formal waiver of federal disability access standards for renovating downtown Milwaukee's passenger train concourse. Federal rail officials have shown no signs of yielding. But Gov. Scott Walker's administration might be gambling on the possibility that fellow Republican Mitt Romney could be in the White House by the time the issue is decided.
