Kansas City Southern reports big quarterly profit, small revenue gain

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Southern on Tuesday said it earned $120.4 million in the second quarter, up from $71.7 million in the same period a year ago, thanks partly to a one-time accounting benefit related to reorganization costs.
