(Source: Zacks Investment Research, April 4, 2012)

QUEBEC, Canada — One of the largest Canadian railroads, Canadian National Railway Company (CNI) has announced a service interchange agreement with CSX Transportation, subsidiary of the largest Eastern U.S. railroad, CSX Corporation (CSX).

The collaboration would allow Canadian National to offer rail-based freight transportation services that will connect intermodal hubs in Vancouver, Prince Rupert in Canada and Northwest Ohio in the U.S. Previously, Canadian National and CSX Corp. dealt in shipping containers through truck transportation instead of direct connectivity between the two railroads.
