Union Pacific worker heads food drive challenge
(The following story by Tammy Malgesini appeared on the East Oregonian website on November 5, 2009.)
HERMISTON, Ore. — Brian Spinden, a Union Pacific Railroad house foreman, is looking to continue a food drive challenge to provide food for the Hermiston Police Department's Christmas Express and Agape House.
Last year UPRR collected 5,600 pounds of food and would like to challenge the Walmart Distribution Center, Two Rivers Correctional Institute and Umatilla Chemical Depot.
"I'm trying to put them on the spot so they'll accept the challenge," Spinden said. "With four entities, I'm hoping we can gather a lot of food."
For more information, contact Spinden at 541-571-7166.
