Coalition resumes S. 697 lobbying CLEVELAND, October 4, 2001 -- The Railroad Retirement Coalition immediately resumes lobbying efforts today on behalf of S. 697, the Railroad Retirement and Survivors' Improvement Act of 2001. Their efforts were temporarily suspended after the September 11 terrorist attacks on America. The Coalition had asked all BLE and GIA members to refrain from contacting their Senators regarding S. 697 in order to allow Congress to take care of the nation's more pressing needs. However, the Coalition is now urging BLE and GIA members to begin contacting their Senators. When resuming lobbying efforts, BLE and GIA members are asked to convey the following message to their Senators:
